As a lighting and installation company, our customers often ask which type of LED lighting they should choose. Warm White LEDs provide a warm golden glow, they resemble traditional incandescent or halogen bulbs, whereas cool white LEDs can often appear slightly blueish or a bright white. Cool white appears much brighter, like the light you would get from a neon light.

Everyone perceives light in a different way. We also all have our own personal tastes, so what might work for one person or location might not work for another, but there are some scenarios where people will agree on the most suitable lighting type for a certain environment.

Warm White

Warm white is a much more relaxing tone for the eyes, interior designers, and lighting installation professionals like us will always recommend warm white for restaurants and hotels to create a relaxing atmosphere.

Cool White

Cool White is much more luminous compared to warm white, we recommend cool white lights in shopping centres and industrial settings to improve visibility and minimise the risk of accidents.  We conclude that Cool White LED lighting best suits practical spaces whereas Warm White is best for relaxing areas. However, when it comes to our lighting displays there are many things to consider.

Outdoor Garden Display

For beer gardens and back gardens, we recommend choosing Warm White LED bulbs. Simply for the fact that when the sun goes down it often gets chilly, so warm White LEDs give the impression that it is still warm outside encouraging you to enjoy the Summer weather a little bit longer.

Christmas Display

When creating your Christmas display the choice is up to you. Cool White LEDs work particularly well when you’re opting for an icy/snowy winter wonderland theme. Whereas Warm White LEDs complement a traditional red and gold theme.
