Connectable Lights are our forte, we have over 35 years of experience in the installation and lighting industry. Offering unique lighting solutions to companies across the United Kingdom. Last weekend marked the return of Lincoln Pride, to show our support to our pride community we have displayed our rainbow lights to symbolise how we stand together in the face of adversity. We have been truly inspired by all the celebrations and events that are happening in our hometown.

What is RGB LED lighting?

Did you know that RGB stands for Red, Green, and Blue? These three primary colours can be mixed to make a variety of colours. RGB LED lighting is an illuminating piece of equipment that combines three primary colours to create almost any colour imaginable. The term LED is an abbreviation of Light Emitting Diodes. LEDs emit light when current passes through them, creating a basic illumination.

How do RGB lights create a variety of colours?

RGB lighting can create up to a whopping 16 million hues of colour, using the primary colours Red, Green, and Blue. To create a different colour, the intensity of each diode must be regulated.

Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are designed to illuminate at the highest brightness. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) changes the current from zero to one hundred. The brightness depends on the percentage of on and off time. For instance, if you want the lights to be dimmed to 30% of their potential brightness, the diodes should be on for 30% of the time and off 70% of the time. The Pulse Width Modulation allows the illuminating equipment to be precisely adjusted for colour mixing purposes.

Why are RGB LED lights so popular?

RGB LED lights have increased in popularity over recent years, due to their ability to emit any colour you like with minimal effort. They are of a very flexible design, which allows you to place them on surfaces you would have deemed impossible. RGB is also much more energy efficient, they emit less heat compared to traditional lighting, not to mention that they last for a longer duration which gives you better value for money.

We have used RGB LED lights in one of our largest installations to date, which included a 15-metre LED colour-changing comet and tail at the Atria Watford shopping centre. The comet was something out of this world and made for a fantastic selfie opportunity.

We have a range of LED lights in stock at https://www.connectablelights.com/ that include colour-changing LEDs, Festoon Lights and string lights in both mains voltage and low voltage. To enquire about our lighting, drop us an email at [email protected] or call our offices on 01427 666027.
